To help control the blaze, the local fire department responded and spent several days battling the fire. Eventually, they had to be pulled off to focus on other responsibilities within their community.

    Cherokee Concrete Pumping Repairs Fripp Island’s Bridge

    Cherokee Concrete Pumping recently wrapped up repairing a storm-damaged, 55-year old bridge in South Carolina’s low country. The bridge desperately needed repairs, but couldn’t hold much weight and wasn’t wide enough for large machinery. With the use of a Schwing S 20 pump, Cherokee Pumping was able to solve both of these problems which allowed for pumping directly from the bridge with no halt to traffic.

    The Kessler hotel group is revitalizing the river district of Savannah with a new iconic JW Marriott hotel. Cherokee was contracted to place concrete on all four of the hotel’s structures: Atlantic Building, Power Plant Building, Three Muses Building, and a 488-space parking deck.

    The evolution of the concrete pumping industry continues with a special new boom that extends the reach of con- ventional truck-mounted boom pumps. Cherokee Pumping, Hampton, Georgia, is using the new Spider Boom from Construction Forms to tackle the large footprint of HD Supply’s new eight-story headquarters and training center in suburban Atlanta. Shell McElroy, Atlanta, is the general contractor building the eight-story structure that also incorporates a six-story subterranean parking garage.

    Cherokee Assists on Auburn University Game Day Addition

    Cherokee was pleased to be awarded the concrete placement on Auburn University’s new gameday addition by Bailey Harris Construction. Concrete was pumped on several levels of the new multi-story addition to Jordan Hare stadium which will contain new club space for fans as well as a new press box for the media.

    Cherokee Places Concrete on Savannah’s New Boutique Hotel

    Cherokee was honored to be awarded the concrete pumping on the new five-star Perry Lane Hotel in Savannah, Georgia by DPR Construction. Due to the complexity and lack of space on the project site, Cherokee Pumping, Inc. erected two 45-foot tall free- standing pedestals for its 39-meter Schwing placing boom.
